Meet the Craftsman: Paul Angiolillo

From Farrier to Master Blacksmith

Hello, I’m Paul Angiolillo. My journey in blacksmithing started over a decade ago as a Farrier, forging horseshoes by hand. Half of shoeing a horse is about precision and strength, and I quickly discovered a passion for forging metal with my own hands. There’s no substitute for skill in this trade; it’s something you earn, not something you buy.

Independent Ironware was born from this passion. I wanted to take the skills I honed at the forge and bring them into a craft that could reach more people, creating handcrafted cookware built to last.

A Family Legacy Rooted in Food

Working with food isn’t new to me. My family has been deeply connected to the food business for generations, specializing in Italian cheeses. My great-grandmother crossed the Atlantic by boat and made her living selling handmade cheese, helping her family survive the Great Depression and thrive.

From her, I learned that what you put into your body matters and that pride in your work is everything. These lessons shaped my philosophy: put care, skill, and heart into everything you create — whether it’s cheese, horseshoes, or cookware.

Handcrafted Cookware Built to Last

Every piece of Independent Ironware carries this philosophy. Our cookware is forged by hand, built with tradition, skill, and durability in mind. It’s made not just to be used, but to be passed down to the next generation. A true heirloom for your kitchen.

With Independent Ironware, you’re holding more than a cooking tool. You’re holding a piece of craft, history, and care forged into every product.
